How to get to Bodø - Most travel routes are by by air:
Domestic: SAS, Norwegian, and Widerøe operate direct flights from Oslo (OSL/Gardermoen) to Bodø. There are also good connections from Bergen, Trondheim
International: The easiest route from abroad is via Oslo (OSL) with SAS or Norwegian. Depending on season, there are also direct flights from several European cities such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Helsinki, London, Munich, Stockholm, and Zurich.
Access to Bodø city centere: Bodø airport is located in the city centre, in walking distance to the conference venue Scandic hotel. Regular bus services and cab services to the city and the suburbs.
If you want to be a tourist, consider travel by Rail, Road or the Coast steamer
If you should consider this as a holiday tour to enjoy the stunning scenery of the north Norwegian coast and landscape: Please consult a tourist burau for advices or from experienced friends or locals. I if you haven't been in North Norway before, a few days from Bodø through the renowned Lofoten islands are considered unforgettable. Another scenic tour is the coast road along the renowned Helgelands-kysten from Brønnøysund to Body which deserves at least 2- 3 days.
The coast steamer: From Trondheim to Bodø takes less than 24 h, with stopovers at cities and fisher-harbours, gives you an exciting introduction to coast life and scenery in the region.
By road: Ca 1200 km from Oslo. 2-3 days from Oslo to Bodø. If you want a scenic tour to experience the area please set aside some days on the road for a tour with stopover in fex Trondheim, and follow the E6-road to Bodø. Even better follow the scenic coast-road along Helgelandskysten.
By rail to Bodø, VY has regular rail night and day routes twice a day each taking around 20 h.
